How to Choose the Right Influencer for Your Brand

Updated: Dec 11

Influencer marketing has been on the rise for many popular brands thanks to TikTok and TikTok Shop, as well as Instagram. If you have thought about hiring an influencer to promote your brand or product, here are some things to consider before doing so.

Your target audience

Your target audience is one of the most important things to consider when looking for an influencer to advertise your brand. This includes demographics, age range, lifestyle, and more. Do a deep dive into your analytics to get to know your audience more and it may help narrow down your list of influencers.

Goals and timeline

What goals do you want to achieve by hiring an influencer? How many pieces of content do you want the influencer to make? This can help you decide if you want to hire a micro-influencer or someone with a larger platform.

Values and interests

Does the influencer you want to hire have similar morals and values to yourself and your company? This is another important item to consider. Let’s use Lululemon, for example. If Lululemon were to hire an influencer, they would likely hire someone who values their health and has an interest in frequently exercising, because that aligns with Lululemon’s values and interests.

This is just a start; there are many items to consider if you want to take the leap into influencer marketing so it’s important to sit down and think hard about it. In the age of influencers, your options and opportunities are endless!
