Graphic designers are great tools to use that are often overlooked. Utilizing graphic design is a great way to make your ad campaigns stand out and gain more attention. As a graphic designer, I often see brands with very successful campaigns that utilize the capabilities of graphic designers, and I also see brands suffering from underutilizing them.

Here are 3 reasons why graphic design is so important and can make your advertising strategies stand out.

1. Attention

Good design attracts consumers, whether that’s through the brand identity or a billboard advertisement. Clean and professional designs are crucial to making your campaign stand out among others. When reading blogs, scrolling social media, or shopping online, well designed graphics are what grabs the attention of your audience. You only get one chance to make a first impression on your audience, and that first impression can make or break your campaign.

2. Communication

Graphics are a great way to easily organize information and clearly communicate your message. Instead of a long blob of text, using a photograph or a simple infographic can get your message across more effectively. Creative designs grab the attention of your audience and makes it more memorable. The use of creative visuals will always enhance your campaign and make it more successful.

3. Recognition

Once a cohesive brand identity and campaign is established, you can begin to build recognition and trust with your audience and customer base. The best way to accomplish this is by making sure your logo, color palette, and overall mood is the same throughout your entire brand, including your social media account, digital advertisements, and physical advertisements. Think of brands such as Target or Apple, which have very clear and consistent brand identities, and make them recognizable and trustworthy.

These three points are key in making your ad campaign stand out and become successful. When building your campaign, remember to use your graphic design resources so you can easily grab your audience’s attention, effectively communicate your message, and make your campaign recognizable and authentic.
